Mission Ambition “I’m Stuck Between I’m Proud of Myself and I Gotta Go a Little Harder”
If you’re anything like me, you set some lofty goals for 2018. As we near the end of the first quarter of the year, I think this is a great time to check in with yourself, revisit your goals, and reset your game plan! As you acknowledge how far you’ve come, it’s important to pat yourself on the back and give yourself credit for the things you’ve overcome. But, what’s next? How can we continue to push forward towards greatness? Yes, it is good to be content with where you are and what you’ve done, but do not become complacent. Never, ever settle! This is the core of ambition. Below, I’ve listed 5 things that will surely help you complete “Mission Ambition”, move forward to achieving your goals, and unlock your true potential!
1. Self Discipline
It takes self discipline to keep working at something until it comes to fruition. Without a doubt, there will be roadblocks, barriers and setbacks along the way. The difference between you staying stagnant and actually achieving your goals is having the discipline to establish a schedule, complete small tasks, be productive, fully commit to your assignment and not give up. Learning how to “parent yourself” is no easy task, but sometimes it is necessary to give yourself the push you need.

Consistency breeds success—plain and simple. When we take action to do things consistently, we form habits. And once something becomes a habit, it's second nature to us and it takes little to no brain power to accomplish it. It’s important to carve out time to work on achieving your goals every day even if it seems like the smallest task. Using consistency to achieve goals is all about using structure and balance to form a lifestyle change.

Having an accountability partner makes you vastly more likely to succeed! Knowing that you have someone else that will motivate you, encourage you and support you makes a difference. Check in with you accountability partner periodically so that you can hold each other accountable as you reach your goals.
4. Rest and Reset
Working hard all the time can definitely be overwhelming for you mentally, physically and emotionally. If your cup is empty, then you’re unable to give 100% to accomplishing your goal. To be your most productive self, you must have a full cup. You must rest, relax, clear your mind and then get back in there!
5. Celebrate Your Victories
When we have lofty goals, it’s easy to feel dissatisfied until we’ve reached them completely. Celebrate the small victories along the way because every step counts towards reaching the bigger goal. If you give yourself credit for every little small victory, you’ll likely keep piling them up—and large success will follow!
