Nothing screams spring like soft pastels and floral prints. These gelato tones were all over the runway of every major designer and fashion house. I’ve never really liked pastels and florals but this year, I am here for it all!

Pastels have a way of making you look chic and pretty and more put together than you actually are. Keep in mind not to overdo it by mixing pastels, lace and nudes all together; you don’t want to overdo this trend. Keeping it simple is the best way to work this amazing pastel trend.

So, here are four tips on styling pastel clothing:

Pop Of Pastel: If you don’t want to start out this trend in a big way, just pick up a soft pastel bag and add it to your ensemble. Accessorizing your look with a pop of pastel is an easy way to rock this trend.

Simplicity: Keep it simple with your hair and makeup. Since pastels are so soft and girly, you want to make sure your makeup and hair are just as soft and feminine.

Pairing Pastels: pairing a soft white top or white shorts with a pastel top or bottom is always a great combo. A black blazer over a pastel dress will have you as the best dressed at the office.

Killer Heels: Don’t forget to pick up a pair of great heels or pumps to go along with the pastel look you are wearing. I always love to put on a pair of floral heels with a soft pastel dress.

My pastel look is monochromatic with nude and brown accents. Since Spring has decided to play cat and mouse with us, I decided to wear a soft pastel pink cowl-neck sweater with a pair of Forever21 heeled sandals. This look is so spring ready and perfect for a brunch date with the girls.

Remember, you don’t have to spend thousands to look like you’re worth millions of dollars, especially when you’re wearing pastels. These Forever21 heels are a replica of a pair of Azzedine Alaia heels that I drooled over for months. When I found these soft pink pair at Forever21 I snatched them up and knew that when Spring came along, they would be in heavy rotation. The heels paired gorgeously with the knit sweater and I finished the look off with a nude mini bag and a braided brown headband.
